Thanks for starting this Marc. I realize the D01 is brushless vs the D02 but for someone who wants to go here from Coax vs the HBFPV2 which do you recommend..

Hey dkb194, Marc always said on his videos that the honeybee is his favorite trainer, due to all his pros. The D02 is about the same as the HoneyBee in terms of motor(brushed) and the tail driven by a brushed motor. The nice thing about the Walkera is the fact that it's Flybarless, with more advanced electronics, less parts to move, break and repair. The HBFPV2 is tougher and will take more abuse than the Walkera. It's up to you on choosing which one you'll. And remember it doesn't matter which one you got, there'll be someone here to help you.
Good luck choosing it
PS: I'd recommend the Walkera D01, which is brushless and tube driven tail rotor(brushed motors give up soon) If you buy the Walkera, make some tail guard from protecting the gears inside it stripping. :130:

Papa I understand where your coming from with the Walkera its a good heli but in my opinion.I think
the Bee is that little bit more durable and parts readily avalable(not too sure on the Walkera parts)
As papa says dkb there is an abundance of help for all types of Helis and members will always help you out. :130: :130:
The DO2 is a new beast and probably still to be proven and this is why I believe the Bee which has been tried
and tested thousands of times is probably the best starter FP.(in my opinion)(of course with Superblades XPs)
Well thats my two pennyworth on the subject.
Good look with your choice dkb :130: :130: :130:

Listening to Nutt s video he is right Walkera is indeed moving ahead with innovations in RC flight , where the Honey Bee is standing still........cnc head, fly-barless.....better electronics ......I have been contemplating a trainer purchase.....have been leaning to HBFP but the Walkera has changed that......looking forward to the tail mods in the next videos by Nuttcaze.... :132:

I agree with you. The bee has been purchased by a lot of people and it's a good heli(really tough). And it sure prepares you for a 6CH CP.

I think it is all Marc's fault that you can't find many HBFPs on line with this super forum and all his hard work promoting the addiction. Being in Canada I have to pay between $35 & $50 for shipping. I've seen a few B's for $125 but all seem to then show as out of stock. Is there a way to find out if Esky is actually producing more B's or are they moving on.. I did see they have the CT that is their forray into flybarless. Xheli has no stock because of the holidays but still show b's for $99 and V200 D01 for $179. It will be interesting to see how far they jack the price once they get stock.

I have had the V200D01 for about 5 or 6 months now and i really have not had too many issues with going through alot of parts. No more than my friends with their bee.Yes there is a tail gear issue that i have solved with a belt conversion. On the V200D02,there is no issue on the tail gears. its the same tail as the cb180d and after a year and a half of having the cb180d  With it being my very first heli, i have not had to replace anything on the tail, but the tail rotors and tail motor.. i still have the origanal  gears on it. since the  belt conversion on the V200D01. i have not had any issues that are any worse than any other 4ch heli. The bird has been really tough and has came out of some hard crashes with not having to replace anything.i am an intermediate flyer and purchased it after flying cp.so far it is my most favorite flyer. As far as a trainer,I have some friends that purchased the V200D01 as their first heli( against my advise) and are doing quite well with it.It just depends on the pilot.I have flown the bee and the V200D01 didn't seem to much harder to fly,One thing i can say is walkera's electronics is far Superior to its esky counterpart and has never been an issue on any of my walkera helis.
Here is my V200D01.As far as parts are concerned.I have never had any problems getting parts for any of my walkeras at any time of year (even chinese new year Which is a problem for esky's)

Here it is with a fuselage on it.And the belt conversion done to it. The skid got stuck in the table groove on take off.

Here is the belt conversion.

Please don't complain about it.

That's probably because of the Lunar new year. You guys who live in the Us and Canada are lucky for having a bunch of heli stores. Here in Brazil, in the biggest(richest and best) city Sao Paulo I couldn't find one single Hobby Shop. So we have to wait for about 30 days for shippments coming form Hong Kong, our only choice. The shipping cost for helis is really pricey(110 US dollars for EMS)

Ps: For instance if you want to buy Belt CPv2 from some reseller on "Mercado Livre"(almost the same as Ebayy) you'll have to pay approximately 450 US dollars(750 reais). . Spare parts are also too expensive.

As Marc said in his video,You cant compare the V20D01 to the bee, because of it being brushless, and the cp tail. So he compaired it to the 200d02 which the price is $129.00.Only $30. more and i my opinon the electronics alone are worth more than that over the bee.

Besides maybe someday doing a belt tail mod to the D01 I don't think I have seen any other needed mods. As it is fixed pitch are Super Blades recommended or are they for HBFP only. As the D01 is brushless I take it there is no need for any fuse mods. I've seen something aboute some flexible hose on the tail shaft. Does anyone know what it is supposed to do except dampen the gears after a strike?

Beside making a belt conversion, on the Walkera Uflys thread I saw a solution that consists of making a tail guard with piano wire or zip ties. Worth checking it out.

The main gear will still strip with the belt conversion if the heli is not shut down at blade strike. So far i havent had to change one in about 40 flights or so. (watch it happen now that i said it) :215: A good mod that has worked for me is use cp450 landing gear fastend to the frame with velcro. In crashes they take alot more of the stress and will pop off in a hard crash.
These are the best blades bar-none for this heli. The esky big lama "B" blades. I get them here.
http://www.xheli.com/ek1-0361.html
or on ebay. alot softer plastic. bends more then the stock V200 blades.
I havent seen the flex hose on the tail section. Do you have a picture of it? no issues on the tail section for me sense i did the belt conversion. Wowhobbies is my favorite source for me here in the USA,but i don't know what would be the best for you at your location. There has been some nib V200 that came with the main motor too far away from the main gear or loose motor screws causing them to strip easily. so if you get one of these, gauge the motor to the main gear before flying it for the first time. Any more questions just ask and hopefully i can answer them for you.
They are not the same size as the hbfp.
Yes your right. You do not need to do a fuse mod to the brushless.
