welcome     Kevin to the best site around, almost everyone here is going to recommend some kind of FP at first until you learn the basics and stop crashing a lot. The CP helis are not cheap or easy to rebuild all the time. A lot of people here have or had the HBFP V2 which flies like a CP heli but not up side down.

Good luck and ask all the questions you need to.....

    Hi Kevin,

    Greetings from across the ditch...

Unless you already know how to fly, I would not go straight for the Belt CP V2. It is a big(ish) powerful machine cabable of damaging itself, and you, in heartbeat, if your not careful...

Better to learn on a Honey Bee FPV2, which is a load cheaper, tougher, easier to repair and less likely to do you harm.. It is a tricky thing to fly, but once mastered, and I haven't done that yet, gives you a really good base, to start on proper CP machines..

Are you in Auckland? If so, there is a place in Sylvia Park, near the food court, that has Belt CP and HBFP, as well as a load of Walkera's and co ax toys.... He is expensive, and I would not buy from him, but at least you can see what your getting, and see how big they all are..

But good luck with it all, this is a great hobby!!

And see, just like Dave said, I've recommended the HBFPV2...

welcome I'd personaly say that sims are only good for getting your orientation down, depending on the quality of the sim. I'd probably recommend fixed pitch too as a cp heli is a bit of a big step up from a sim.

welcome welcome welcome welcome your going to love it here, and yes start with an fp, maybe even a co axial? probs more fun and a bit more expensive (because of crashes and parts) to start with an fp rather than an coaxial, ive had my coaxial for about 1 year and never bought parts, all though now i need a new fusealage and blades because of so much blade strike, i use blades for about 4 crashes (just tape them), then when i get the toilet bowl effect i swap blades.

    Hey There,

Well it's a big hello from me too.........

Like the others have already said and I suppose others will say in the future getting yourself a FP heli from the start

is only going to make this hobby a lot more exciting and a lot less frustrating, and not to mention a lot less expensive also.....

The beauty of getting yourself lets say a HoneyBee V2 FP heli is that Nutcaze aka ( Marc ) the Administrator or the Boss ( depending on who you talk to ).......

is that he has provided a great service to people that wish to get into this great hobby by posting all sorts of set up videos on the subject which is going to make your life a lot easier.

Any way welcome aboard and look forward to seeing you on here,

    Happy Flying,

    Scooby

welcome  Glad to have you on board.  FMS is not at all realistic.  Try to download Clearview flight sim - just google it.  It's closer, but still no substitute for the real thing.  Coax will not really help you a whole lot to fly single rotor other than to help you understand basic heli controls, but will not develop your touch with a single rotor.  If you get an FP it will be much more durable and cheap to get to the point you can hover and do forward flight.  If you master an FP you will have much fewer crashes on a CP.  I still love to fly my FP now even that I am totally comfortable on an FP in just about all normal orientaitons and able to do some basic 3D manuvers now.

I see that no one answered your first question. E-sky sim really sucks dude.

To land off your heli, all you need to do is just use throtle stick, it lands without anymoves. Hovering at e-sky sim is nothing. just push throtle to middle and it hovers automatically.

You'll be really amazed, when you try to hover HB V2 to Belt Cp.

and yes I recommend Honey Bee v2 for beginning instead belt cp.

Have a nice flights and welcome on board :)

    Regards
    Taha

I thought I had pretty clearly answered the FMS issue and suggested Clearview as an alternative that is slighly better.  There are even better sims, but you will be into more money than an hbfpv2 to get them.

I thought my glasses were ok, but you clearly proved that I need new ones

sorry for the misunderstanding(not reading) :)
