one thing i havent firgued out is..my heli can spin left much faster than right..you can adjust so its even..but i dont know how???

and wow..dont you just get your UFLY??..you did alot of mods already..YOU MUST POST VIDEOS OF YOU FLYING

Hello jjh24..  :136:

oh! i LOOOVE my new Ufly.. but im not used to this heli yet..
its different to fly than the HBFP.. its much moore faster in its reactions than my HBFP v1 and less than the Collective pitch helis, it has that "FP twitch" that are the balance between power/ agility and im little bit scared of crasching her too hard..

but its so much fun to fly this helicopter.. really a different experience flying a heli that are between FP and CP helis..
very strange and very interesting.. very speciall to fly IMO..

i think that you REALLY have to learn to FLY the FP helis.. the Collectives do have so much moore to save you before you run out of options..
i KNOW that i have POWER if i fly a Raptor 60- Trex 250-450 and so on..

FP -helis.. hmm! they are.. different.. there is SOMETHING about them that i LOVE...
i cant spell it out but the caracteristics are different in a very strange way..
you almoust have to "plan" your moves before you do them..

Collectives go where you tell them, they just do.. FP: always have this little "twist" that makes them so hard to fly..
and rewarding when you DO..

i have tipped her over once in a gust of wind and had 2 minor "crashes" so far and only managed to wear the maingear out a little bit.. but it flyes fine..
everything else is fine so far..

yes! i got my Ufly just recently and i sat up all night and fixed the mods.. because i KNOW i will hit the ground one way or another..
that comes with the territory in this hobby..

and it hurts.. and it hurts even moore because i didnt got the time/ founds to get ALL the absolut necessary parts to just knock my self out in any "flying madness"
sessions.. so i am trying to fly in "saving mode" as much as poissible..

but i really loooove the helicopter so far in any way..

its wonderful..

all the "goodies" in a nice package and all the benefits there is with that nice fixed pitch rotor head and collective pitch agile tail..
and the 2.4 gz TX and BL motor are a hit..  :125:

i think that the turning/spinning ability to to one direction has to do with the mainrotor direction torque..
oh! i dont have a decent camera to video my flights yet but it would be very nice..

i do have a 5MP mobile cam but its hard to film and fly with that setup..
so i will try to film my flying in some point in the future..

i am very happy to see that this Ufly thread is active..
as active as we are "Uflyers"..

i love this bird and i am really little bit moore careful with this one than my HBFP v1..
i am still in "chock" of the fact that i really bought this one..

it took me a long time to get the founds to buy this one..
and helipilots HAVE to consider that the heli itself are just a part of the cost..

the necessary spareparts are almoust as expensive..

if you really want to FLY helicopters..
it will hurt your wallet..  (if your not a very lucky man/woman with nice jobs/ rich/ nice contacts and so on)
and im not that lucky.. i just LOVE to fly this things.. and really put my pennies whenever i can in this..

and thats one reason i really wanted to post the mods because they are really easy, inexpensive and functions well..
and you can do them all or just the ones that fits you and your style of piloting..

and fix the bird back to stock very easy..

i am not a "fancy" kind of pilot that cares if the things that i have are the latest fashion.. im little bit ruff/ hardcore..
and personnally i want AIRTIME...   theres where i love to be..
in the AIR..

all respect to those who likes the oppoisite and fixes and bling their stuff to the extreeme, we are different people with different goals
helicopters in all fashions are cool..  :218:

i do enjoy every minute of this nice and lovely experience that i have piloting helis..

so lets do this.. if we can.. as much we can..
because we can..

Best regards

Ypsilon..   :122:

:136: to you too...yup i just love flying myself..the extras are nice..but its your heli..so whatever you want it to be.. :coolguy:...the tail ..left and right has to do with adjusting your tail servo screw and tail link(instruction book)..but not exactly sure..i got the lil key chain camera for like $8 bucks..$12 with shipping on ebay..its great until i get a better camera  :218:

cant wait to see you fly

oh yeah i started off with the falcon 40v2..didnt not even master that when i got my UFLY..so i was really going slow   :219: when i started flying her..i mean the basics too..hovering..left right..lil 8'...because she was really fast at the time :215:..ok enjoy..thanks again for the pics  :220:

jjh24..  Starting out flying helis with a Falcon 40v is NOT easy.. tricky little things to learn on..  :138:

i still on the edge when i fly my birds.. and i flewn helis for couple of years now, and the thrill and adrenalinerush are still there as strong as the first day..
the challanges change with the mood..

helis are not forgiving airvehicles..   :219:

hmm! the keechaincamera, that was a good idea and affordable..
will look that up.. thanks!

lets see if we can fix your tailspinning..

if you try to do this:

Nr1:
take the heli up in the air and trim the tail/rudder until its steady and not spinning in any direction..
land it and look at the TX how much its trimmed and then adjust the tailservolink until the helicopter are steady hoover without spinning..

continue to adjust the taillinkage one turn at the time until you reach the amount of equal pitch you need to have to avoid spinning the heli
the TX rudder should be "close to 50%" when adjusted correctly..

(my TX read 41% left when i landed the heli, guess i could adjust it a little but its not any probs at all for now, the tail is still and solid in hoover)

best regards

:224: You are very good in after market modifications so that the UFLY can be flown many times. Only main blades and main gear to sufer in a crash (sorry accident) :212: Therefore keep it up :130: :propeller:

Hello there... now i tried it..

i put the Superblades XP on the Ufly, i drilled out the Walkera bladegrip holes to 3mm and put a allenhead bolt and a lockingnut under, i took longer screws and put the superblades ontop of the origianal head with a  homemade stiffener that i mounted on top of the Superblades..

i fitted the blades with drilled 3 MM holes to some of the inserts that came with the stockblades and put them in the wider Superblades gripholes, i also took 2 broken Walkera stockbladegrips and cut them so only the grips was left and mounted them in the walkera bladegrips as fillout shims..

it flew lowely like a whisper.. BUT it was instantly moore sluggish and the headspeed was much slower than with original blades, so the Superblades XP on the walkera Ufly are not a good option/mod IMO..
the helicopter became vey sluggish and slowresponding..

the crispness was gone..  :110:

damn! i really want Superskids to create their durable blades to the Walkera Ufly.. stock blades are brittle and easy to chip, but something must give up in the system to let the copter be durable in the core..

but the mod to drill the bladegripholes to 3 mm was an inprovment because i find the M2 stockscrews to be pretty hard to find in stores near me, and they are a little bit small and really easy to loose in the field, now i have a lot of both the M3 bolts and locking nuts,

so i run short M3  allenhead bolts now on the original walkera head..

just wanted to share this info if somebody was thinking of trying the Superblades XP on the Ufly.
no point of doing that..

best regards

You can't change the pitch. But you can reduce the diameter to bring up the headspeed.  Since you already bought em, why not cut em down a 1/2 inch at a time until you get close to the original headspeed.

CHRIS!!!!   :127:

oh! i took them from one of my HBFP:s and didnt thought of cutting them down..  i TOTALY forgot to do that...  :bash:

of course, thats the mod i have to do, i will buy some more Superblades XP:s so my HBFP blades are "in stock" and try this again on my Walkera Ufly when i got them..

thank you for replying about this  :130:

The tailshaft fix..  :136:

I crashed the chopper and broke one of the tailshaft tips that attaches to the tailgears of my tailshaft and my chopper rests on the table and "we" are  :110:
and then i just got restless and looked at the tailshaft and come up with this fix..

So if and when you run out of spare tailshafts or you are waiting for parts to arrive, or just out of money to buy the parts and stuff you can easily make your own tailshaft until you have or the stock ones arrive

but it takes you to have some 2mm carbon rod or a 2mm bicyklespike to make the shaft.

1. Cut the rod or spike to 330 mm

2. file the ends of the rod so it fits the tailshaft gears, make them identical to the stockshaft so they fit snugly into the gear

Now we have to fix the difference between the new thinner 2mm shaft and the 3mm stockshaft

3. to make the new and thinner "tailshaft" fit the stockbearings you have to fix the gap between the thinner 2mm shaft and the inner 3mm of the stockbearings

my  helicopter  have 3 bearings fitted into the tailboom, one att easch end and one in the middle

You can use some plastictubing or whatever material that fits the rod to build it up the 1mm that lasts to fit the bearings, just check that it doesnt stuck in the bearings and it fits nice but fairly snug

i took some shrinktube and cut them so you have 3-6 pcs of approx 3cm:s
take the shrinktube and fit one in the middle of the rod and the rest to the ends of the rod, and then fit the rest of the shrinktube until they fits into the stockbearings

4. mount the new tailshaft the same way you mount the stock one..

Voila!  you have a new tailshaft.. and you can do as many of them you want, fairly easy, sheap and works as well as the stock one..

So for all the Walkera Uflyers.. i really hope that this could be a good fix so you got AIRTIME..

Best regards

Ypsilon.. :128:
