Get a Tarot 450 pro instead. I have one and the quality is good. You only need to change the main gear and tail drive gear to Align.
But I use KBDD damper.

If this is your first 450 heli, you might want to stick to a belt version. The torque tube version strips gears easily if the tail blades contact something while rotating.  All the HK kits suffer from cheap screws. Check out rcscrewz for a replacement set. :2cents:

pinguin thanks but that's out of the budget...If I was spending that much I think I would save a bit more and go with the 500 or 600 kits. Appreciate it though! Goal is to build a 250, 450, 500, and 600. hehe  :222:

ridge that sounds like a very good idea, can you shoot me a link on which one I should buy? I was actually just looking on getting new screws even though I haven't even chosen my heli! I like to stay 1 step ahead of the game. rcsrewz or align? later is prob cheaper but I don't know...Ill check both sites and post what I find.

Cheers,Vanka

I feel dumb...or more so confused. So rcscrewz makes their own screws for diffrent models? WELL thats what I got from the site...anyway

V1= http://www.rcscrewz.com/product_info.php/m/align/p/alg001-align-trex-450-series-stainless-steel-screw-kit/manufacturers_id/58/products_id/2280?osCsid=df86196a2160f896c212a363105de718

SE V2= http://www.rcscrewz.com/product_info.php/m/align/p/alg003-align-trex-450-se-v2-stainless-steel-screw-kit/manufacturers_id/58/products_id/2282?osCsid=df86196a2160f896c212a363105de718

Well can't find the screws anywhere else...based soley on the fact that I don't know where to look but I did look on ronlund.com ,which if I may say, is awesome! If you are looking for any align parts go there, prices are great and they seem like pretty cool people!

Onto my NEXT question.

Which servo? I mean more expensive in this hobby usually means better material, better quality but keep in mind that I am on a budget, I would like to get everything including battery and charger AND get it shipped to my door for under a 100. Unrealistic?

http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4696&Product_Name=GWS_Park_HPX_Servo_19g/.05sec/3.6kg_%28JR_Plug%29

Thanks for all your guys help! I know this is a lot of questions but I know you guys got it.  :woohooguy:

If you buy something in your budget and you know the quality is poor, in a few weeks you will be grounded, because parts need to be replace. In a few weeks you will spend more than the more expensive kits.
Read the comments or review on the product web page. Sometime they say, they receive the product with bad parts, such as, bent main shaft, crack canopy etc.
You better buy something a bit expensive, but it will last longer. That way you will save money.

vanka, I don't know if this is your first cp heli, if it is I recomend you to go for a belt driven heli instead of a TT heli, the belt is more forgiving in a crash, in a TT heli you will brake the front or rear TT gears very easy, perhaps this heli could be a better option for a first cp heli, but that is just my opinion.

About the servos, the two options you posted are good sevos, very fast both, for me those servos are a great option for rudder, for cyclic servos you can go with something cheaper.

This are the servos that I used for cyclic and this one for rudder, both work fine with me.

You can upgrade your electronics for a better ones when you get better flying skills, that is what I did  :130:

rcscrewz sells the screw set for each version of the Trex as well as other brands. I know its a little pricey but it makes it easier to disassemble/reassemble as needed. If you don't get te screw then only snug tight the stock ones with locktite in metal to metal connections so you avoid stripping the cheap heads. That will be my next upgrade next month. Next the HXT900 are great servos butttttt.......if I was to do it again get these  http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9392 metal gear servos for cyclic. Im still not 100% sold yet on the performance of my DS480 tail servo/GY48V combo. It drifts a little after a few minutes which tells me it might just be the gyro. I will more than likely get a Futaba GY520 next month too cuz I really like a lock in tail. Much easier to fly.. :twocents:

ping, No I totally understand what you are saying, but this will really just be a bashing heli while I build my 500/600 kit. I'm not that great but I can afford $10 worth of repairs every time something completely disastrous happens. Plus what the plan was, was too get the cheap kit and if things broke, upgrade them to align even though the parts will get more expensive, I will also get better. Haha thanks though!

caddmus, I like the upgrade electronics as you go idea! They few things that I will start of with good parts will be ESC and motor, yea they may be cheap from HK but I will chose the better ones over the crap ones. The 900 servos will prob what I will go with and http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4696&Product_Name=GWS_Park_HPX_Servo_19g/.05sec/3.6kg_%28JR_Plug%29 for my tail, its cheap but I will upgrade with time. I like your option for the heli, but I think I am just going to go with the $27.99 kit.... http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10811 Because like I mentioned above I will just upgrade the parts I break to align parts and I'm bound to break something on the head.

ridgeracer, yeah I think in the end it will be worth going with those so that I don't kill myself or anyone else, and knowing this hobby well know we could use a few extra screws lying around.  :130: I liked the servos you picked out, but all the reviews of people that had used them were not that great, and for that fear I think I will stay with the HTX900 even though they are not GREAT, they are good enough to get my up in the air and doing some light 3D (too much?!). Also really? Did you not like the combo? I can understand the drifting, I wonder what it is...here is the link http://sergio.salvi.ca/2009/10/18/mystery-gyro-g401b-modifications/?src=hk to mod the gy401b, apparently afterwords this thing fly's as good as the Futaba one!

Thanks again everyone!!

O I know this is off topic but if anyone is looking for a RC boat, I have one for sale here...need the money to build this baby!! Thanks again and sorry for being off topic. :D

Cheers,Vanka

Did the mod and still drifts.. :212: Anyways good luck with the build. For what you spend, it really flies great for a 200 dollars heli with radio and all. Remember to get some Turnigy, Zippy or the new Nano Tech pack too. Good luck..

Thanks for your help!  :130:

Vanka, hopefully you just need to replace the broken part. On my experience, I have to replace bad quality parts.
You don't have to get RCScrewZ, just get the Align screw set. I think it's cheaper. What you need is a good quality tool, so it wont strip the screws.

Good luck Vanka, keep us posted with your build.  :propeller:

Thanks pinguin! Can you shoot me a link towards the align screw set? I can't seem to find them...I agree this is going to take some work and some major replacing but with a limited budget all I need to do is get it into the air and from there replace as I break.
