I'm running Clearview SIM and really like it.  I checked for an updated version about a week ago and there was an update available.  Followed the instructions for downloading the upgrade and when I tried to install it I ended up getting one of the dreaded Windows errors 2908.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get it back working again and finally found a solution.  When the installation screens start popping up for Clearview there is one that gives you the option of installing the program for single user or all users.  I had been leaving it selected for single user.  I selected all users and WALLA the program installed without the dreaded error message.

Back to practice my landings with the Pitts Bipe to get ready to try out my Multiplex Gemini in the real world.  Wish me luck.

    Hey guys,

How much better is Clearview than Helisimrc?  Or is it worth it?

    Hi Chief,

Yeah, not sure on the Helisimrc, I have never heard of it but i can say Clearview is pretty realistic and fun to use.

You can download a trial version from Clearview that lets you try before you buy. I suggest you try it out and see if you like it or not.

    I hope this helps,

    Happy Flying

    Chief

Chief,  No experience with Helisimrc here either, sorry.  I started out with FMS and wasn't real pleased with it.  Found Clearview and downloaded the trial and I have been very happy with it.  Purchased the package.

The only thing I have to compare the Clearview to is "Beachcombers" Realflight vsn. (?) and I was happy with how the Clearview compared.  Flight characteristics are very good in Clearview to me and there is enough adjustability to make the models fly similar to the real thing.  I would give it a  for the price.
