Well, I went and bit the big one today! My scale fuselage is on it's way! A Eurocopter  Ecureuil AS-350 in a 500 size. Not the best looking helicopter but the build should be straight forward with plenty of room for install. I plan to detail it up as much as I can. Am going to use the EXI 500 kit for mechanics. So, we'll see how it goes. This will be a somewhat long term build!

Kit:  EXI Plastic Version 500 size.  Purchased from X-Heli. Price: 77.70  I already have some spare upgrade parts on hand.
Fuselage: Eurocopter- Ecureuil AS-350 Purchased from RC Aerodyne Price: 134.95
Motor: Turnigy T3648 1450KV Already on hand
Speed Control: Turnigy Plush 60 AMP or Hobbywing 80AMP Both on hand
Cyclic servos: Hitech HS82MG on hand.
    Rudder servo: undecided at present
    Gyro: undecided at present
    Receiver: AR6200 on hand

Still need to decide on other items I'll be needing, but am currently researching for what I'll need!

If the wings are moving faster than the fuselage it's a Helicopter!

What do you mean not a great lookin helicopter. I think it's a beutiful helicopter.   I'm lookin forward to the build. Are you planning to detail it up like the one's in the pictures? Pretty sharp lookin. Can't wait. Please keep us posted.   I just LOVE a good build thread. By the way, where did you buy it?

Hey DD! Yes, I plan to detail it up as close as I can to the photo.  I built many scale plastic aircraft for contests over the years..and did well!   A lot of the detail parts I'll have to make, including some decals which I have never done! Should be interesting!  I'll post pics as I go!

Ditto everything that Donnie says. Big-time congrats on the commissioning of your project! I'll definitely be keeping tabs on this.

    Congrats Painter!!!!

Really interested in a side by side size comparison between the fuse and your 600.
You guys made me do it...I ordered a MD500D kit and it will be here in a couple days!

Good luck (not that you're gonna need it) and keep us posted.

    Lots of pics please.

"It's not my fault! He made me do it"!  What size fuse did you get? 500 size or 600? Mine is for a 500. I'll do the best I can with mine and post plenty of pics as I go! Congrats on yours too!   Same goes for you...pics please!

It's a 450 size. I didn't want to give up my 500 or my 600 just yet so I will be using either my belt cpv2 or exi450.

It's not my fault, I just gotta have it!!!!

I don't want to muddy up Painter's thread here, but LOL guys.

It's so very cool to have some partners in crime on this stuff. You guys are great.

Yeah, we are some really bad criminals, aren't we!   I have a feeling my wife is not going to be too happy when I have parts scattered all over the table for weeks as I do the AS-350 build!  I guess she might look at it as a felony! But wait!  I have a get out of jail free card! (Valentine)!
