HK450 Build need help with parts selection (Shopping list)
« on: February 23, 2013, 10:11:15 AM »
Not sure if I'm posting in the right place, if not my apology's in advance

I just want to ask if my list is OK or is there something I need to change or add. I try to use the RCFAN configure but some of the items are not available or error message
Also this will be my first Heli build.
As far as Radio. I had a 7C Tx years ago but I sold it. I am looking to get a Spektrum DX7s or the DX6i later, but would like some ideas on a good radio for the time been.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Tippy I the Turnigy 9x Tx but the new 9xr is a good relatively cheap choice.
Both are good beginers txs but you will need to buy a module such as the Flysky
if you are going with the 9xr route.
There are two great threads on here for both Tx radios.
I also have the 450 CCPM which is almost complete just haveing a few teething problems
a great little 450 with the aluminium head not the cheapo plastic one not so good.
Easy to build and with the ammount of help by the guys on here you cannot fail to complete it.
Just thought I would let you know buddy :130:
Get a good Gyro though I got the GP 780 Align gyro with the ds 520 digital tail servo but others will come along and tell you of others
like the Spartan Quark which is a blinder bit more expesive though :130:

Good luck

Pete :125:

Thanks Rumblecloud  :220:

I have not gotten around to checking out that Tx yet, will do asap

Hey super, thanks for the heads up I will take a look at the Tx thread and have a read to get up to date with them.
Also I am taking your suggestion on the parts you recommened to me, not sure of the prices if they will hurt my budget or not.

Is the DS 520 servo from align also?
Did you buy a replace aluminum head or did you buy it in the kit, if so which one did you get.

OK so I did look into the above mentioned gyro/servo combo unfortunately its a bit out of my budget for the time being as this will be a limited budget build. :222:
My question is there some kind of alternative I could substitue with similar features and close quality in the $40-50 range.

Thanks for the help...

Try to consider this gyro/servo combo. Ga-250 and Corona 919MG. I have used both separately and they works.

Have you consider Tarot helicopter? Excellent quality. I have one for 2 years know, and I haven't replace any parts. I did replace some parts from the beginning, not because it was broken, but because I want to.

Hey pinguin thanks for the the suggestion. I am really liking the positive feedback I'm seeing and hearing about Tarot. The problem is the TT as most have said its not as for giving as a belt system however after reading until my eyes hurt  its the consensus (at least to me) that it really is about how carfull you are regardless if your a noob. Because the belt drive version seem to be impossible to come by, another thing is it seems most offering are FBL.

Anyway I am leaning towards the Tarot the problem is where to get it from because it seems there are clone of the Tarot which is in of itself is already a clone of the align. Another issue that worries me is local parts support for the Tarot, then again its an align clone so parts can be had, please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I am trying to get some input as to where in the US or china would be a good place to get this model without wasting my funds on a clone of a clone

Here is another choice you may want to look into. I don't know much about them but it seems like a pretty good deal.

I have a Tarot Pro, which is TT version. Some parts I replace is 100% compatible with Align. So I don't worry to much on getting parts. If you break it, just get Align parts.
