Trex 550 first flip attempt.. plus some FPV.
« on: May 25, 2012, 10:57:17 AM »
Hi guys, i finally got the courage to try a flip on my 550. Ive been wanting to try this for ages but its a scarey thing to do.

Sorry for the slightly dodgy camera work and the talking. Please watch in HD full screen, i accidently uploaded it with a black box around it.  :dunce:

As always some bonus footage for those that want to watch it.

The weather here has been awesome all week. High 20s and hardly any wind. Scorchio.  :130:  So i had a little FPV flight as the sun went down.

HD and full screen and enjoy.  :128:

Thanks for watching,  :130:

Which plane are you using for FPV? And what setup?

Elamar, wing is a Maxi Swift with EZUHF for RC and 2.4ghz for video.

Dave, thats the Thames, it runs across alot of the south east. The lakes out the back are old quarries i think. That are now a mariner and rowing lakes.

Nice job  :130:  I tried the first flip on my 500 last Sat and almost didn't make it, lost cyclic control completely coming over the top and was about 2ms from dumping it when I finally got control back.  I think the ESC was just overloaded and reset.

Yeah, a little hairy because it was at an event.  No, I am not trying it again until I replace the Turnigy ESC with Align 70A
