Can you track xp superblades
« on: May 10, 2012, 02:41:50 AM »
Hey Guys. Ive tryed to track my superblades. They are out of wack, Suprise suprise the amount of crashes they have taken. Anyway I cant seem to adjust them. I holding up by the rotor and twisting up or down which ever blade it is. but it doesnt seem to work. Is there a trick to it or when they get to that stage does it mean they are past their use by date :laugh25:

Hi Diggiz,

Is your flybar dead straight. I found that this was always the reason why my blades didn't track properly or thinking about it, making sure the blades sit in the blade holder properly by reaming the holes out a little bit.

I have crashed the monkey nuts out of my XP's, they have a slight crack and a few notches out of them but they still track proper. BUT ONLY if the flybar is totally straight and centered and the paddles are flat...

just my  :2cents: I could be way out of line (haha?)

Hey Diggiz's, I tend to agree with Hanketh as far as something else is probably wrong...
I test mine all the time and they always have good tracking...
I think you might have something in the rotor head area making them not track well or are flexing because of the crack (depending on where it is)...
If all else has been double checked and in good order then you can always try Phils idea about using heat, but it might just be time for some new ones... :128:

Thanks guys, Dave I dont have a crack in my blades Hanketh mentioned a crack, not me Lol. But yes my flybar is not 100% straight. Its been straightened about 20 -30 times :laugh25:I think its time for a new one. I never thought of the flybar making the blades not track properly and yes Hanketh ive have reemed the holes a little.

Well I might have to look at a new flybar.

I love this forum, You will always get an answer to a question :thank-you: :thank-you:

One other thing then Diggiz, if you are looking for a flybar that doesn't get bent out of shape try the align one for the 450 trex. It is the right diameter but hasn't got the notches, (no bad thing) but it is much more springy so it still absorbs energy on a light crash but stays nice and straight. It is also cheaper and blacker than the stock one. Saved me a lot of time not having to straighten the damn thing out all the time...

http://www.heliguy.com/Electric-RC-Helicopters/Trex-450/HS1006-Flybar-rod-2pcs/   I got these but they are shorter than stock so you may want to try these  http://www.heliguy.com/Electric-RC-Helicopters/Trex-450/HS1184---Flybar-Rod/220mm/

two in a pack and I am still on the first one and I have bent a main shaft in the meantime.... They are dead good.

I have straightened many a flybar and main shafts, too for the Bee.  Anyone can do both with a vise and a little practice.  I haven't bought either in a year.

Well I used one of my flybars from my 450. Its 20mm shorter but seems to make the Bee more responsive. Thanks Hanketh :130: :130:

Works real well and the xps track again now  :215: :215:

Wow, the flybar would almost have to be bad out of balance/bent and cause enough vibration to knock the blades out of tracking... Great job Hanketh... :bravo: :woohooguy: :yourethebest: :130: :130:

Glad you are flying again Diggiz... :220:

Less than you would think Dave, this is exactly what I went through. I had straightened the flybar several times quite successfully which was always a bit of a hassle especially if you bent it near the start of a battery, but one time I noticed that the tracking of the main blades was out and it was flying like an intoxicated hedgepig. The fly bar was lined up horizontally okay but it was a few mm out vertically. Thats all it took. I had read on this site somewhere that the 450 flybars were cheaper and came in packs of two and were the same diameter so I chucked one in my bee. Since then, no fannying about with a vice, anvil and croquet mallett. just gotta make sure the paddles are equally pitched (flat in my case) and no tracking problems since...

Either way, glad to hear that sorted it Diggiz.  :130: :130: :130:
