Back to your original question though...Remove the motor or the pinion gear so the mainshaft is free. Then you will have to use whatever you can to get the heli on its side and level while hanging the head off the edge of a counter. You will also have to make sure your main blades are on perfectly straight and tight so they do not move. You should then be able to balance the head using the mainshaft bearings in the frame.

Oh, you might have to remove the main gear from mainshaft. Now that I think about it, that would be better than removing the motor or motor pinion. I have tried this and it will work but patience is a must...

I read somewhere that some people had damper installation issues with the EXI metal heads that caused vibrations. In these cases, (if i remember correctly) the dampers were not seated properly in the head block causing them to stick out. Trimming the dampers was the solution.

I actually never had the blade grips apart on this head <slightly embarrassed> because I don't have allen wrenches that fit the screws well enough. But it doesn't look like the dampers are sticking out of the head block.

When I first did the spin up test, the flybar was on.... so I'll check that. I have KBDD paddles, so I'm relatively sure that they're matched for weight, but I have to check.
