a project on my HBV2.Possible?
« on: April 22, 2012, 09:31:18 AM »
Hi all.I want to use my HBV2 with my DX6i.At the same time I don't want the stock 4in1 so, if I mount the CP3 3in1 and the AR6100 rx, is this ok or there are some problems?

Yes, I have already seen these videos but is not the same I want to do.In the video there is an example with spektrum rx but with a modified 4in1.Instead of a modified 4in1 I want to use the cp3 3in1.I think is the same more or less but I want to be sure

What you want to do will work just fine.  Note that you will have to plug the throttle cable into the AUX pins on the RX, and you will need to setup a linear pitch curve to run it.  Use the CP3 motors, too, you'll be glad you did.

I tried the same thing as boykintom, but had main motor pulsing. So I went with motor, 2-in-1, & gyro from a blade sr. With a cp3 tail motor. no more pulsing. But that opens another can of worms. Because the brushless main sr motor has so much more power & torque, all the plastic esky rotor head parts would just snap & break in mid flight. So to cure this problem I went with all metal rotor head & swash from xtreme. This works fine. Runs really sweet. IF YOU DONT CRASH. About 50% of the time in a crash, the esky main shaft breaks off inside the metal rotor head. Now you have to drill the broken main shaft out of the rotor head. If you dont crash it works great, but a pain in the a$$ if the main shaft breaks.

Cp3 3n1+ cp3 main motor works like a charm. I've used it on 2 hbfp v2s for over a year and a half with no problems. A very cheap and reliable upgrade. Check this out........http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=291713 .............I also have a $13.50(as opposed to the $60.00 full metal conversion) all plastic bell-hiller mod. Response goes from sluggish to instantaneous and performs just like the $60 set-up at a 1/4 the cost.  Again a very cheap and reliable upgrade. I've flown it for about a year now. I've yet to destroy it after many crashes(knock on wood). Check this out.... http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=258279 ...... These two cheap mods(plus cp3 dd tm mod of course  )  have turned my humble honey bee's into killer-bees!, on par with anything currently offered on the fp market to date, including fbl....I say if a mod can improve performance, durability, or reliability....then do it. Though it taught me alot i cant imagine ever flying a stock bee again......I say mod it like you stole it! :125:.............................Kato

Thanx Dave, glad to see the old pros still here :laugh_4:. I'm still fly'n the bee. After some choice tweaking its a joy to fly and "tonka" tuff. Takes a lick'n and keeps on tick'n :laugh25:. Perfect heli for how i like to fly. I have little intrest in hard 3d. Just ba**s to the wall sport fly'n(and the occasional crash :coool:). And the upgraded bee's are more than qualified for that. You can fly the crap out of 'em without worrying about destroying them. I've even smacked it into myself a couple of times(try that with a cp )...Eh, long live the honey bee.................ps I've heard rumors that esky is about to replace the V2 though..................Kato

Hey Kato, do you have any videos??? Would love to see the SuperBee  in action.... :128:

And yes, I have heard they are coming out with a few new models, it has been over two years since the V2 was new, and it was a bid step up from the old frame setup, can't wait to see what they do different this time (if anything)  :220:

A little update of my condition. Now I have the Bee with AR 6100 Rx, CP3 3in1, CP3 main motor, Cp3 DD tail.I connected the rudder wire of the 3in1 into Gear of the Rx.The problem is that I don't find the correct gyro behavior.I must change something in the DX6i menu?

I'm not clear whether or not you have an external gyro in the mix, but if you don't, then your setup is similar to mine, except that I have aileron to aileron, rudder to rudder, elevator to elevator, and throttle to AUX 1.  I control the throttle on the DX6i by setting up a linear pitch curve, and that works just fine.  Be sure you have the swash set to 90 degrees, too.
