congrats on your new heli. Just fly normally and get the feel of the collective pitch. Trex 250 will be a lot stable than your hbfp, since 250 have a gyro. Good luck bro.

A 250 may be a bit squirrelly but good for you!   I have a bee v2 and haven't got the guts to fly my 450 yet hehe.

Congrats 247!!!! ;D

A couple questions:

First - (May seem Silly) Was the person you bought from flying the 250 with the DX6i? Personally I would re-bind before I would try to fly or set-up.

Second - Did you get the manual for the DX6i? Again personally, I would go thru the tx and check everything; pitch curves, throttle curves, swash mixes, expo, dual rates, EVERYTHING. The reason I think this is important is because the person you bought from may be a very experienced pilot and have it set up very hot meaning; no expo, high swash mixes for increased pitch and aileron/elevator (roll rate), flat throttle curves, ect. All of these things will make it harder to fly if you are not used to them and you need to know what these settings are so you will be able to check set up on the heli.

Third - Do you have a pitch gauge? Disconnect to of the wires from the esc to the motor(for SAFETY) and proceed to check the heli set-up. You are looking for a level swash, degree of pitch (at center stick, full stick, and low stick) on both blades, ect.

Fourth - I would re-bind again after everything is to your liking.

I know it sounds like a lot but I would hate to hear that you crashed or don't like the way that it flys because something wasn't set up properly. ;D

Damn I write a lot, anyway congrats on the new bird and happy flying!!!! ;D ;D

thanks for all your kind words of encouragement guys  :)

are they easier,harder or just different to fly  ???

here`s my replies to your questions js;
1,yes the guy was flying the 250 with the DX6i,he`s bought a DX7 now
2,i`m hoping the manual is gonna be with it,if not i`ll have to download it from somewhere.he`s an experienced pilot but said he`d tame it down for me  ;).but i agree that EVERYTHING needs to be re-checked,absolutely.
3,i haven`t got a pitch gauge yet,is that one of the first things i need  ???
4,re-bind.....huh  ??? so much to learn  ::)
thanks for taking the time to write in detail,the great thing about rc heli`s is everyone's willingness to help  ;D

You Bet!!! A pitch gauge is a MUST have when you are working with cp helis.

With any rc heli (cp or fp) the rx and tx are "bound" together so that particular rx only works with the tx it is bound to. When you get the manual for the DX6i, read everything!!!! I think the first section is general data and then from page 77 on, is heli related. There is a section on binding the rx. It should come with a bind plug (looks like a servo plug with no wires) that you plug into the "BATT" terminal on the rx, then while holding the trainer switch turn on the tx. The rx should flash very fast and then go solid.

It is always a good idea that after you make major changes to your tx programming, you should re-bind.

It sounds complicated but trust me, it isnt that bad. In June of this year I had never even touched an rc heli. You will do just fine!!! ;D

If you have any questions or need help, just holler! ;D ;D

hey guys,thanks for all the advice,the great thing about this hobby is EVERYONE is always trying to help a fellow flyer (i wanted that BIG thumbs up smilie from the old forum here!!)  :)
so here`s the latest update.the heli should have been here LAST Tuesday but the seller told me that whilst he was setting-up/adjusting he crashed it !!! the damage was/is a broken tail boom and a few other parts that need a little tlc(his words,not mine)  :o so he`s ordered new parts and i`m supposed to be getting it this week  ::)
not a great start i know but he`s assured me it`s gonna be `as new`when i get it so fingers crossed  ;)

I have trouble understanding why anyone would consider 'flying' the heli they just sold?

Odd.

i agree with that.the thing i was told is he was checking to see how he`d left the set-up.if it was for fast 3D or tame hovering/learning.he`d left it in a fast set-up and crashed it  :'( i`m not too happy but this guy was recommended to me by a close friend so when he says everything is gonna be put right i tend to believe it .maybe i`m just a sucker who`s too trusting,i`ve been promised a 100% guarantee or i can send it back and get the money returned.
but yes i agree,it is a bit "odd" :o
