Hobbywing 60a or 35a?
« on: April 21, 2011, 12:17:41 PM »
I was thinking about one of the ezruns by Hobby wing for my Traxxas Bandit. Not sure which I need. I don't race, just bash and let the kids drive it but do not want something to go "poof" first time I put a 3s lipo in it. also, I was thinking around 4000kv. Is that right? How do you choose kv? Long term on these ezruns?
Can I use a 4s lipo with it?

Thanks
Jason

Hobbywings Only Support 1-3s Lipos, Even Though It Says It Wont Support A 1 Cell, The Reason Why Is The Cuttoff Wont Work On A 1 Cell Lipo.
4000Kv Is Equivlent To Like A 10.5t Brushless, Good Choice, Will Be Fast. 35Amp Is All I Use And It Works Great. But 60Amp Will Have More Power, But Inless Your A Racer. Or Compairing The 2 Side By Side, You Prob Wont Even Notice The Difference.

Hope This Helps.

where did you buy yours from? 4000kv or? I have no idea what kv to get. I am thinking around 4000kv just cuz traxxas vxl is 3500kv so I thought I would stay close to that. Looks like hobbypartz only has a 6000kv in stock. What would be good/bad about a 6000kv motor. Thanks!

6000Kv Would Be Faster, But You Would Have To Lower Your Gearing, I Got Mine From A Club Meet For $40 I Believe. Mines Also Only 3300. I Had To Get THat Rating For Racing Specs. If I Were To Get A New One I'd Choose The 6000Kv, But In Your Case It's Probably Better Off To Stick With 4000kv. Also The Higher Kv Tends To Drain Batteries Quicker.

I don't race lol. I am converting my bandit to a short course buggy. Like the new losi xxx-scb.  Should be fun

Have You Ever Been To A Race Before? I Bet The First Time You Go, You'd Get Hooked.

I used to 20 years ago lol. If my kids get into it I will. The nearest track to me is two hours away. I might build one if my boys get into it.
