I Know This Is Way Killer Late. But I Disagree. Lipos Can Take The Hits And Whacks NiMh Can Take.
..I Have Yet To See Any Lipos Blow Up Or Catch On Fire. I've Only Seen 1 Time A Lipo Shorted And Now Is Only 0.00v And Wont Charge.

That doesn't mean it doesn't, can't or won't happen! I have seen them catch fire with much, much less provocation than how you've abused yours.. It is NOT NOT NOT pretty and it can happen in an instant, with no time for you to realize or react. LiPo fires are no joke. They're violent. They can explode like a bomb. They spit and pop.
You have been very lucky young sir.

If you at any time notice a cell has swollen, or if you notice your cell getting warm (even without swelling) when you don't expect, get it as far, far away from you and anything you like still owning as soon as you can. like.. RIGHT NOW soon.

Some of you might tell me this is a bit extremist, but I like having all my skin on my bones.
Treat LiPo's like they're a loaded gun, IMO. Don't take risks that can end in serious injury.

EDIT: Don't be scared of them, CoolDude! I don't mean to give that impression! Fires luckily don't happen very often, and a swollen cell doesn't necessarily mean it will catch fire or anything.. Look at what Eskimo says about his. Just don't be flippant about it is really what I wanted to try to impress. It might not occur frequently, but just don't get complacent about the possibility and you'll be fine.

Ive Done A Lot Of Research On Them And Personally I Don't Find Them To Be Very Dangerous. Yes The Chemistry Of A LiPo Can Make It A Potential Bomb. But They Are Save IF You Keep Them Between 3.7-4.2v Per Cell. Always Keep LiPos Balanced Never Charge Over Its C Rating And Keep Them Stored In The Right Temperature. If You Were To Hurt Or Damage LiPos Never Use Again Inless Under Heavy Supervision. Most Of The Times People Blow Up Their LiPos By Charging Them On The Wrong Settings Carelessly. I Bet If You Were To Dead Short 100 LiPos Maybe 1 Might Catch Fire. UnitSeven Just Likes To Play On The Safe Side. I Don't Blame Him

Sorry to here that, hope you can get it up in the air soon.....

Most likely not as i plan on getting my first airplane first then im gonna get ill probably get a dx6i then i will hook that up to my honey bee.I more interested in flying planes right now as the trainers can stand a 5 mph wind while my honey bee cant lol but im not giving up ill have hours logged on the sim and im also going to get a larger heli not always a great idea but they can take a light wind i figure ill just jump in and ill be saving me some sad faces for when i crash cause i know its coming. XD

Man it really sucks tho i was preparing ever thing today and the damn 4-1 just had to take a shit lol

They do make hard case lipos designed for non-flight applications.  You should also consider LiFe batts: they also are more impact resistant, tolerate deep discharge, and less voltage sag. They are heavier which is why less people use them in flight applications but they are great for cars/boats/etc.

LiFes Are Fantastic Batteries. But As You Say. The Weight And Also The Fact For Rc Racing LiFes Are Not Legal In Any Racing League. Yes Stupid But Its Because Of The Different Voltage. LiFes Are 3.6v As LiPos Are 3.7
